Applied (Musical) Ergonomics: This 60 minute video presentation covers the topic of innovative instrument and seating modification for the purpose of reducing injuries and enhancing musical comfort. It features the work of both Dr. Norris and other innovators.

Return to Play After Injury: This presentation covers the important and interesting topic of how to safely and effectively return to playing one's instrument after recovering from an injury. General principles as well as instrument specific recommendations are given.

Dr. Norris has been invited throughout the U.S. and abroad as a guest speaker on the topic of musicians' injuries. He has 25 years of experience in this field.


He was a founding member of the Performing Arts Medicine Association in 1986 and served as Chair of the Education Committee for 10 years. From 1989-1991 he served on the adjunct faculty of the New England Conservatory teaching health education for musicians.


He had the honor of being chosen to author the chapter on Musicians' Injuries in the prestigious, two-volume textbook: "Rehabilitation of the Hand and Upper Extremity", 5th edition.
