Richard is a founding member of the Performing Arts Medicine Association and served as the Chair of their Education Committee for 10 years. He was on the faculty of the New England Conservatory teaching Health Education for Musicians.
He has been playing guitar since 1962 and studied flute as well. Richard, an invited guest lecturer, here and abroad, is also a noted author on the topic of musicians injuries. He presently lives and practices medicine in Northampton, Massachusetts.
